North Carolina Artists’ Exhibition, Greensboro

Postby stephanmoll » Fri Jan 02, 2015 7:48 pm

A nice exihibit of the works of 120 North Carolina artists – wood, painting/drawing, glass, clay, metal/jewelry, etc. - is presently ongoing in Greensboro in the GreenHill Gallery, 200 N Davie Street, until Jan 11,2015.

While there are only a few turned wood pieces (total of 7; not counting 6-8 in the gift shop), the large variety of different art media makes this an interesting exhibit, for individual visitors and for families - I enjoyed it, as did my children. The exhibit space is very nice – wooden floors, white walls, plenty of light, the location is good – and the floor/wall arrangement is excellently done (images 1-2). Each piece of art can be purchased (prices are listed) and can be taken home right away or at the end of the exhibit period.

The turned wood pieces exhibited are: 3 from WGNC member Chris Boerner ( (images 3-5), 4 from Wyatt Speight Rhue ( Congratulations, Chris. The beautiful cherry bowl (image 3) has been sold; again, congratulations. A worthwhile, entertaining, interesting, nice little visit.
